We have not been to Olive Garden for years until we received a gift card for Christmas. We went there on a Thursday evening. There was a short wait. After we were seated it took about 10-15 minutes for server to show up. However, once the server arrived he gave us great service. We looked through the menu and the only dish that was appealing to us was mixed grill which had no cream or heavy sauce. The mixed grill was very good, especially the roasted potatoes were yummy.

I love olive gardens food. I feel like I'm being served at a five-star restaurant in like Paris. It is a very classy place to eat yet it still has kids menu if you have a family of more than just you and your significant other. This place is very popular so it is expected to have a little bit of a wait before you get your table maybe a long wait depending on the day that you go. I'm not a fan of too many soups, but all of garden is a good place to get soup. Their Parmesan chicken is amazing and I love how you get breadsticks before your meal.

Occasionally people need a little OG, as in the Olive Garden! For a vegan their all you can eat soup and salad is a pretty amazing deal! You just have to ask for no butter on the bread, and the salad dressing on the side. Use a little Olive oil, it's vegan! Also the minestrone soup is vegan! How cool is that! You can order giant beers, and it's priced pretty right! The service is always pretty good and for the soup and salad they are running around getting you stuff all the time, but they are always pretty attentive every time I have been there. I have not had any of the pasta dishes since I was a kid, but they look pretty good! The thing about a chain it has to be consistent and the OG is pretty darn consistent. Our more recent trip was a delight and for 2 people, all you can eat soup and salad, and a giant beer under 25 bucks! Not to shabby! Always clean, always kind service, and you get some mints at the end! ps tip, go at lunch it's cheaper (soup and salad)

Its been a long time since I've been to an Olive Garden. On our most recent visit we had the soup, salad, breadsticks and the chicken & shrimp pasta. The food came out SUPER fast-- within 10 minutes after ordering. I was very impressed! Our server Dillon was very attentive and fast. We asked him for refills of the salad and he brought back a nice big fresh batch of it. He also gave us freshly made breadsticks. Overall a great meal!

I'm convinced that everyone in the entire state of Iowa flocks to mediocre chain restaurants and shopping malls on weekends, especially in the winter. Is there really nothing else to do here? If you plan on going to this Olive Garden during peak lunch or dinner hours on Friday through Sunday, be prepared to wait quite a while to get a table (more time to work up more of an appetite for unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks...right?) With that being said, every time I have been there the employees have been friendly and the food has been tasty. No complaints whatsoever on that front.

Host stand was just a mess. Must have had a new employee....she didn't talk to us at all nor did she smile. All she said was come this way. Then she tried to seat our group of 3 at a 6 top. Originally we asked for a booth but they told us it would be 20 minutes...luckily one opened up right as we were walking back to the front. The head host said it would be a longer wait since they had already cut most of their servers...at 1???? Our server was great though. Food was good as usual. Just very disappointed in the service received from the hostesses.

After recently hosting a party with the Olive Garden, I have to admit that my love for their endless soup and salad has rekindled. You mean for $6.99 at lunch and $10.99 (price jump?) I can throw myself a mini party complete with Olive Garden's tasty salad (black olives, tomatoes, parmesan cheese, iceburg lettuce and banana peppers - - not to mention the popular Italian dressing that can be purchased and stores) along with bowls of your flavor-packed Zuppa with kale, Italian sausage and potatoes. And after I finish that bowl, there's always a bowl of gnocchi chicken soup, pasta fagiole or minestrone to keep things rolling? Beyond my love for the s+s, I need to highlight that this location was killing it with great service! Smiles, wine samples and the perfect amount of attentiveness. Way to go!

Ordered takeout here twice. First time we were a bit peeved because we asked the bartender if they had included breadsticks in our order, which he said yes, and when we got home, there were no breadsticks. The chocolate mints in our bag also ended up melting and getting everywhere because they put it under the hot containers of food. The second time we ordered takeout, they did include our breadsticks with our order and thankfully no melted mints. Service wasn't great. When i walked in, the hostess and a waitress were chatting away and stared and looked away as I was standing there. Wouldn't recommend this location.

Food was good and excellent value. We sat at the bar, was disappointed that the booze had paper cone cups over the top. As you would to close at night to keep the bugs out. Not during business hours. They had a special make your own pasta, limited but good value.

We came here recently for the unlimited soup, salad, and breadstick lunch. I haven't been to an Olive Garden in at least 4 years and maybe 4 years before that. We use to come to this location almost a decade ago and the place still feels the same. It's been updated, surely, but it feels like the same place. That's kind of amazing brand management. Our food came quickly and our server was attentive. We had good conversation with him and although we tried to order each of the three soup offerings in addition to the other goodies, we just weren't able. But I was impressed to see the slight upcharge option to tack on some extra small plates. I'm sure this is a win for OG because people will then eat less of the other unlimited stuff, but it felt good to have more/other options available for not much extra money. Great value and decently healthy options.

Well.............................. I thought I would never be saying this or eating at Olive Garden...............but We have been very disappointed at a number of Italian Specialty restaurants we have tried in the area. We do still have a number to discover though. After a number of attempts to eat at Italian Specialty restaurants in the area with minimal success, we succumbed to the cookie cutter chain restaurant siren's call. I was pleasantly surprised by Olive Garden's consistency throughout different locations with flavor, presentation, and quality. Of course the salad and soup was outstanding but I must say the appetizers as well as a number of the entrees that I have devoured have been very good. The different sauces were all flavorful and hearty and the pasta was always el dente. That is really all you can ask. I will say I am not a fan of the bread sticks but there are very good and a favorite of most diners. I prefer the age old crusty on the outside/soft on the inside Italian bread of old. Overall I must take my hat off and say Kudos to this chain as they actually made a believer out of me. Bravo

What is there to say about an Olive Garden? You know what you are going to get and you are going to get a lot of it. Our family of four received a gift card for Christmas so we decided to try it on a Sunday evening. The atmosphere was typical Olive Garden which means comfortable but uninspired. It was not very busy so it wasn't too loud. Our waitress clearly had too many tables, which caused her to be a little slow. She was pleasant and attentive and I am sure with a couple less tables would have been very good. The food was what you would expect to get at a chain restaurant. It was good but not great and definitely not original. The kids really enjoyed the breadsticks and the salad was probably the best part of the meal. The portions were large and we all took some home. I think the prices were 20% high given the quality of the food, but suspect they have to charge that to make up for the free salad and breadsticks. Overall, if you enjoy Olive Garden you will not be disappointed with this location. It is clean, the staff was courteous, and the food was decent. For the money I would try one of the many other local Italian restaurants before going back, but we had a nice time.

It is what it is. I normally don't frequent Olive Garden but after receiving some gift certificates at Christmas for Darden Restaurants I really had no choice. Mind you, there is nothing wrong with Olive Garden, there are just other Italian places (both chains and family owned) that do it better. With that said I haven't been to one in about three years and I was caught off guard by the portion reduction, at least on my wife's lasagna. It was no bigger than a deck of playing cards. Kind of skimpy. I got the stuffed chicken marsala and although it was decent, it's unavoidable to notice the mushrooms in the sauce are canned. For $16.00 I guess I was expecting a little higher quality. Apparently people don't seem to mind though. This place always has a packed parking lot. We went on MLK Monday at around 2:15 in the afternoon and the place was still packed. So they definitely aren't hurting for business. Service was good considering how busy they were and they did a good job of finding us a table to accommodate a sling for our baby carrier. Salad is still good however the breadsticks seemed kind of blah with little flavor. Guess they are just used to soak up the dressing/sauce anyway.

We went to celebrate the wife's birthday just recently. The food and service is usually consistent. They had the buy one, take one special, so I decided to order something new - Creamy Citrus Chicken. This was even better than I thought. Creamy pasta and nice tender chicken in a very tasty sauce. The server was excellent with attention to details and even brought out the wife a birthday candle with chocolate mints around for her birthday. We ended up taking spaghetti and Mezzaluna Ravioli with Five Cheese Marinara home. They were both excellent. Please do note these dishes are cold, but not frozen. It appears it was pre-made and left in the fridge ready to take home. A few minutes in the microwave did not lose its taste too much or at all. I would recommend Olive Garden. Enjoy!

Usually, I find Olive Gardens consistent. This one was no different. My eggplant parm was excellent! My niece's chicken alfredo was also great. The meals came with salad and bread sticks. The service was also good.

I am very impressed with the taste of the food. It is good, may not be the best but delicious! Food costs is worth enough. Salad is simple good! But hope, they have option of having other kind of dressing not only italian dressing. Also you may have unlimited garlic bread, it is good, but if they spread more soft butter on it and garlic mixture to have strong taste, would taste alot better! Staff are way friendly! We waited Less than 8 Minutes before we were able to have our seats. Above all, I enjoyed the night with my husband! :)

Absolutely amazing!!! We used to come here once or twice a month for over 5 years. Then after multiple bad experiences last year we stopped coming back. Today we decided to try it again. It was amazing! The food was great and we had the BEST server (Manny) we have had at any establishment! My kids shared a kids meal since the portions are so big. Even split up they couldn't finish it. Our waiter split up the meal for us which was a nice surprise. We will start going back again!

I ordered a pizza and it tasted ok. My wife said it looked and tasted like a frozen pizza. It was nothing special. Our waiter seemed upset that my wife had food allergies and that she wanted to know what was in the food she wanted to order. He said "that's a lot of responsibility for him." Also for a place that features their salad, I was surprised they didn't have any other dressing but Italian and ranch.

the first impression was the best. the host immediately got us a high chair for my little girl. the calamari was wonderful, and the pasta dishes were exactly what we expected for the money. i have spent a lot more $ for worse food and service. and it is always a pleasure for the manager to ask how everything is. for a chain, this place is really good.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
